About Me

My photo
Megan
I am currently a music and politics student at Converse College. I have a strong appreciation for cultural diversity and different languages. Perhaps my love for language stems from my belief in strong communication (but languages also have a musical quality to them at times). Music is truly a form of communication and I have found, through my passion for other cultures and travel experience, that I have been able to use my musical abilities to transcend cultural and linguistic barriers. (Just ask my host Mother in Morocco, Africa- I tried to teach her how to play the flute.) This semester in the Music of Diverse Cultures course I hope to learn more about the way music manifests itself throughout the world. The people, function, inspiration and more. I would also like to explore each topic further within this blog.
